A Times to Give Thanks...

Hello butterflies, it's the season of thanks and giving; one of my favorite times of the year. When I look back on my childhood I  remember all of the magical moments that made the season worthwhile for me. Coming from a multiracial background always opened the door to some great food and great conversations around the table. Spending time with the people who love and care for you is always important. That does not mean that they have to be blood. Family is not defined by blood, but ignited by love and compassion. So take a moment and give thanks to whoever has been there for you and supported your dreams, as well as your journey.

Even though this is a time to give thanks, it's also a time to remember our loved ones, who are no longer with us. This speaks volumes in my life, for I have lost both of my parents, and many more who were very close to my heart. So instead of mourning their loss, I take the time to celebrate their life. I make food that they enjoyed while they were with us, as well as, enjoy the music. This, in a way, has become my therapy for the ones who are no longer with us. So I encourage you to do the same, and remember you are not alone.

Some very exciting news is that, starting in January, we will be starting off with Miss Gay Philadelphia America 2020 on the 31st on the month. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, as well as Miss Gay Philadelphia America 2019, Kali Coutour, and all of your formers, our MGPAA sisters. Being a part of a sisterhood like MGA, means that you will always have family to help guide you towards achieving your dreams!
